My Bed Your Bed is part of the 'Shifting Sands' compilation of short Indigenous films.
The collection is produced in association with the Indigenous Branch of the Australian Film Commission and SBS Independent.
'Shifting Sands' is the continuation of the 'From Sand To Celluloid' collection which was released in 1996.

Synopsis |
A young girl, sitting around a campfire with relatives, is told by a female elder who her waamba (promised husband) is to be.
Years later, Della leaves her family to be united with her husband. Things do not run according to plan as both Della and Alvin are extremely shy. In an attempt to consumate their marriage, Della moves her matress next to Alvin's only to drag it away when she fails to get the desired response. The couple spend a the next few days moving their matresses from room to room without saying a word to eachother.
Matters become worse when relatives visit the couple and they are forced to deceive the family into believing that their marriage is running smoothly.
