Title As Time Goes By
Author(s)Melinda Houston
Issue 70
Page Number 29
Comments I really enjoyed reading this review, because of the simple fact that it does not totally dismiss As Time Goes By as just a piece of crap. Unlike other reviews of the time (of which there aren't many), the movie is accepted for what it is, as Houston puts it, a "cheerful, innocent, innoffensive comedy".
Synopsis This is a film review talking about the lighthearted nature of As Time Goes By. It states that the film removes itself "from anything real, social, political or contentious". It also talks about the genres that As Time Goes By draws on, as Western (apple pie and spaghetti), sci-fi, and of common filmic notions of Australian comedy.
