Title Thats Exploitation! Snobs
Author(s)Philip Brophy

Comments This is an interesting article about the limitations in the culture of Australian cinema, especially because of its comments about the industry at the time it was written, but is also very relevant to the industry today.

Synopsis This article criticises the ‘high-brow’ tone of Australian film culture, and how this approach to film stifles the film industry, investing in a narrow and limited film culture. Brophy suggests the only way to create a ‘total’ cinema culture (and industry) in Australia is to include the ‘sex, gags, thrills and gore’ of exploitation cinema.
