Cate Blanchett admits to getting into acting âby defaultâ, she was a graduate from NIDA in 1992 and subsequently commenced a stage career acting in Kafkaâs âDancesâ, and in Hamlett opposite Richard Roxborough. She has since appeared in âOscar and Lucindaâ and during 10 days off the shoot she managed fit in a starring role in âThank God He Met Lizzieâ. She has also appeared in Paradise Road and is married to script supervisor Andrew Upton. She describes her criteria for choosing films as a proccess where âYou want to know whose shooting it and whose directing itâ, and relys on a âgreat sense of trustâ. Rather than thinking about the roles she wants âI think about who I want to work with. She is soon to star in a film with Geoffry Rush about Elizabeth I.
