Out of his work came his first feature film as a writer and director of GHOSTS...OF THE CIVIL DEAD. After much critical praise throughout Europe, Japan and Australia, the film has been theatrically released, screened on television and released on video in three countries.
Besides Nick Cave and INXS, John has directed music videos for a wide variety of other artists including Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Wolfgang Press, Einsturzende Neubauten, Frente and Crowded House.
His work has gained the admiration of many established film people as diverse as Peter Weir,Wim Wenders, Hector Babenko, Michel Ciment,Derek Malcom, and the late Richard Roud.
His most recent film, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, was finished in June and screened at Cannes, to an enthusiastic crowd. It is presently released in Australia and Spain, with plans to be released in England and America very shortly.
