An award winning cinematographer, Jaems Grant's ten years as a DOP first started when he was a stills photographer. His various credits as a DOP range from short films to rock clips, documentaries to television. Not to mention six feature films.
Grant has been DOP for Luigi Acquisto's first feature film "Hungry Heart," and the highly acclaimed "Spaventapasseri" which won a swag of awards. As well as this, Grant has also worked with many well-known Australian directors: John Hughes, Ana Kokkinos, Ann Turner and Kathy Mueller to name but a few. "The Journey" directed by Peter Watkins, also saw Grant take the helm as DOP for the Australian shoot.
He has branched his talents into the television industry in the last three years. The very popular television series "Lift Off" and "Round the Twist" are two examples of this; Grant also worked as DOP in the drama series "Law of Land."
Jaems Grant has also attracted many awards - including A.C.S awards for cinematography on "Hungry Heart" (feature), "Blowing Hot and Cold" (feature), Girl Overboard (music clip), "A Kink in the Picasso" (feature), and AFI nominations for Best Achievement in Cinematography.
The year 1991 saw Grant directing his own short film - "The Art of Drowning." This film has won a number of awards, both in Australia and overseas.
