A Short Snippet in the Argus on the 12th September 1930, talks of one F.B McFarlane, one of the managers of the St. George along with the rest of the McFarlane family being charged with having failed to keep all gangways in the theatre free from obstructions during public occupation of the
building.
He was also charged with having failed, to provide two efficient fire extinguisher in the film projection cabinet, as required by the regulations. He pleaded guilty, and was fined £5, in default distress.
An ill moment in the time of the St. George and probably more specifically the McFarlane family who were the owners of it. |
