In addition, it should be noted that this article focuses on "The Nostradamus Kid" (Bob Ellis, 1993) and discusses in an extremely enlightening way, the nature of the 'coming-of-age' as genre. It is an artvile which is equally applicable to "The Year My Voice Broke" (John Duigan, 1987) and "Flirting" (John Duigan, 1990) Overall, this is a very worthwhile read for those interested in the stylistic and narrative trends inherent in the genre itself. Caputo places his analysis within a '90s context. |
