Title The effect of the Australian Broadcasting Tribunal's guidelines for Children's Television
Author(s)Maryanne Smith
Publication Date 30-06-1979
Comments Strange report- doesn't seem to decide whether it is a report on the evils of television in general, a report on the new ABT Children's Program Committee, or a study on families doing without television. The test-case family used in the report is a bit of an unnecessary distraction from the real issue.

Overall however, a useful example on how children's television was changing at the time the Tasmanian Film Corporation was establishing itself in the area.
Synopsis Although not a written journal article, 4 Corners (ABC) could be considered a journal in television format.

A look at the new guidelines for children's television which instituted the use of the 'C' classification for children's programs. Dr Patricia Edgar was Chair of the committee and later became head of the Australian Children's Television Foundation. Clips shown from Fatty and George (TFC, 1980), which was considerd by the committee to be the best submission in the first round of classifications.
