This particular issue of Cinema Papers also contains an interview of John Duigan by Scott Murray. This interview is conducted in equally as impressive a fashion as the latter, with Murray critically examining patterns in Kennedy Miller production techniques and subsequent outcomes. This interview focuses on the 'classic' Kennedy Miller approach to film and television production with particular attention given to 'Bangkok Hilton'. Murray critcally assesses the prevalent themes and preoccupations of the mini-series whilst examining how 'Bangkok Hilton' may or may not fit into the 'classic' Kennedy Miller style of narrative construction. Hayes discusses the difference bewteen a mini-series and a tele-feature and this leads to an examination of audience expectation and desire with relation to narrative. The article concludes with Hayes' mention of audience testing conducted at the release of 'Dead Calm' in 1989. The article highlights Hayes' career until 1989 and is worthwhile for those interested in the personalities behind the institution known as Kennedy Miller.
