Comments This is a transcript of a set of four small interviews conducted by Margaret Pomeranz which appeared on the television series At The Movies.
Synopsis The interviews shed light on what local Australian film distributors feel about buying/distributing/screening 'controversial' films. Richard Payton, the Dendy Films buyer, James Hewison, the director of the Melbourne International Film Festival and Troy Lum, from Hopscotch Films, all harbour differing opinions on the topic of controversial films and express how difficult and sensitive it is when dealing with such matters. An insightful set of brief, yet poignant comments which further highlights the social and political complexity of film censorship and classification in Australia.
