Comments This chapter or section of the filmography style, larger text is a brief, yet succint account of "Hard Knocks."

The book itself is readily available at many libraries however I obtained this copy at the "State Library."

It offers full cast and crew credits as well as other relevant production information pertaining to the film.
Synopsis Breen offers a basic synopsis of the film and it's fundamental themes and concerns.

He often emphasises the role of the film in terms of it's portreyal of 'Australian youth hardships.'

He found the film's focus, on a lower socio-economic cross section of society lent to the realist portreyal of life for a young single Australian woman in a patriarchal, male dominated society, rendering it with an
important place in the Australian historical film lexicon.
