Author(s)Author Unknown
Page Number 57
Comments This article is useful in terms of the film's social message and concerns but provides minimal critcal or analytical content.

Despite this, and the fact that is it a very brief article, it does provide some origional (yet brief) responses to the film by placing it in it's local context- Melbourne.
Synopsis Author 'Unknown' seems transfixed on the fact that the film is staged around 'underprivileged inner-city Melbourne,' more specifically in the back streets of Richmond or St Kilda.

This focus, 'on the low socio-economic' section of society, enables the film itself to create a new spin on the 'teenage' vein of films, which the author notes 'are usually featuring a typical upper - middle class section of society.

From this focus, the author sees "Hard Knocks" as providing a significant social statement.'The characters in the film are believed to be 'strong and individual' with 'real' anxieties, problems and hardships.

Overall, a gleaming response to "Hard Knocks" is provided here!
