This article, having been written for the career section of the newspaper, mainly looks at the type of life that anyone looking to make a career in Documentary making might expect. There is definitely a focus on the success of Goldieâs career in the bulk of the article. It is highlighted that he has won âan AFI award, two Logies and several international human rights prizesâ and that the freedom he enjoys from the success of his past work now allows him to try new and experimental things. Despite this focus in the main article there is a note of the fact that while Goldie has been extremely successful there are other documentary makers, that are even friends of Goldieâs, that have struggled but it is not delved into further than that.
Overall it is a fairly light piece of writing. It is not an in-depth look at the life of a Documentary maker. Anyone thinking of becoming a documentary maker would not understand all that it takes to be successful from reading this. (Airlie)
