These notes are by director Jon Hewitt himself, they shed light on his vision of 'Acolytes'. Hewitt begins by giving an overview of the story's narrative. He explains how his preference in movies are those which contain a lot in the subtext, which is what he tells us to expect from 'Acolytes'. Hewitt also discusses 'Acolytes' in regards to his film career. He talks critically about how 'Acolytes' is an advancement on his personal movie style. Hewitt finally then moves on to talk about how the digital medium that 'Acolytes' was filmed in. This film is only the second film that Hewitt has worked with digital technology, following his first being 'Redball'. Hewitt discusses his opinion and history with working with this medium, which offers great insight into Hewitt's film making style and ability to push boundaries. I think that Hewitt's film maker notes whilst might only be a short document has a lot to give. It recalls first hand Hewitts opinions and outlook towards the film 'Acolytes'. This document would be valuable to anybody interested in Jon Hewitt's films and film making in general. |
