This is a short article sourced from microfilm at AFI collection. The article talks about Jon Hewitt's attempts to market and sell and distribute his controversial film 'Bloodlust' over the internet. Which i find quiet interesting because today we see online distribution everywhere but the fact that Hewitt pushed for this method of distribution back in the early 90's is very ambitious of him, explaining why it made the newspaper! This is a very interesting article as I have been unable to find any other information about this online approach to distribution thus far. In saying this The Age is a respectable source of information. The article includes exact sales numbers and countries of distribution as well as a statement from Hewitt himself stating his success. As mentioned earlier this is a one off source of information that may only be a few hundred words but holds great detail of the actions of niche producers of the time. This article needs to be read carefully and the dates should be noted whilst reading. |
