A review of the film The Devil's Playground, the article disucsses the major theme of the film - the upbringing of pubesent boys in a Roman Catholic Seminary in the Victorian countryside, through an autumn and winter of the 1950's.
The article goes on to disucss topics the film raises such as the segregated raising of youth and how the outlets for puberty are stifled by the church's mediaeval rules.
