Hoyts Theatre Ltd was the first lessee of The Mayfair Cinema and was operated the cinema until it closed. The cinema which under Hoyts Theatre Ltd was changed names as the first name called The New Gardenvale Theatre, the second name was The Nepean Theatre and the last one was called The Mayfair Cinema. The cinema with these names was under Hoyts Theatre Ltd before reopening under lease to Selleck and Ward. This company had not enough budget, therefore Mel Elliott brought into the partnership to manage and operate and cinema.
