Synopsis |
Debra Lee-Furness (Asta) is a barrister on holiday riding a motorcycle through the outback. When her bike breaks down, so has to spend a few days in a small town awaiting parts. While waiting, Asta discovers a male dominated culture which considers gang rape the norm supported by a one factory economy ruled by a wizened witch and her son.
As Asta becomes more cognizant of the situation in the town, she becomes more aggressive in her rejection of the societal pattern. Ultimately, the local males react, and the local females revolt against their domination. The end is not a happy one, and the moral is perhaps unclear, but the story is involving.
