Synopsis When Mr Chedworth is demoted, because of staff reductions, he becomes a caretaker of an old warehouse, where he discovers a bag of money, alleviating his concern over his financial affairs. Chedworth is unaware that the money is counterfeit and begins taking a new outlook on life. He gains a small fortune from some crooks who sell him some apparantly worthless gold mining shares, as well as achieving a coincidently lucky win from an accidental bet.
Eventually the family moves to a larger house and takes advantage of the material wealth.
Meanwhile a treasury official is investigating the source of Chedworth's money. When Mr Chedworth is kidnapped by the counterfeits, he is rescued by the treasury official, who is on the trail. The gang is arrested and Chedworth relinquishes his counterfeit fortune, yet is satisfied with the legotamate winnings he retains.

Underpinning this narrative, is the subplot centering on Susie, Mr Chedworth's daughter, who is a contestent in a Junior Radio Quest. She, like Chedworth, comes out a winner and is satisfied with her accomplishments.
