The By Hook or By Crook series has been screened both within Australia and internationally. Four episodes were screened on the ABC in the early 1980s. The series and particularly the first episode has won awards at children's film festivals and was particularly successful in Sweden where it was used as a filmic experience for deaf and hearing impaired children. Di Nettlefold also travelled around Tasmanian schools in the early 1980s screening the series. All the rights to the series are held by Di Net Films.

Synopsis |
9 year old Stuart and his baby brother Sam have been left with the nasty Housekeeper whilst their parents go overseas. Stuart decides to take Sam and journey to their Grandmother's house in the country outside of Hobart. Along the way Stuart encounters problems associated with looking after his baby brother. This is the first in a 13 part series of short films detailing the adventures of Stuart and Sam throughout Sam's childhood from infancy to age 9. |
