Synopsis Largely based on the film-makers personal experiences , "Terra Nullius" is an impressionistic account of an 8yr old girl, Alice, growing up in a white adoptive family who denies her Aboriginality. The film resurfaces memories of sexual abuse by her adoptive father and the racist attitudes that denied her own sense of identity. The last scene depicts a silent meeting between the young girl and the adult Alice surrounded by a circle of women who appear to be ancestors and family encouraging a sense of inner growth through the unioun with her child self.
