Synopsis Young and beautiful actress Ann Darrow is struggling in depression-era New York when she meets filmmaker Carl Denham. Ambitious Denham needs a leading lady to complete filming his picture on location. Cast and crew, including playwright and Darrow's love interest Jack Driscoll, travel to ominous sounding Skull Island where they encounter the legendary ape Kong who is captivated by the beautiful actress. Kong is captured by Denham and brought back to New York in a quest for fame and money which ultimately ends in catastrophe.
