Name Sarah Billens
Birth Year 1977
Comments Sarah Billens developed her interest in cinema at a young age, but was no more a movie buff than any other kid at her age. As she picked up French at school, she was introduced to some foreign films, other than those her parents used to watch. Sarah took a shine to these French films, and in taking a photography subject at school a bit later, became very interested in the process of photography and filmmaking. Leaving high school, Sarah entered the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology to undertake a three year undergraduate course, a Bachelor of Arts, specifying in Media Studies. Combining a television production major and a cinema studies major aided Sarah in her development of some sort of understanding of filmmaking and the narrative cinema. Her first contributions to the film world include her two third year television projects, "Perfect Life" and "Foolish Person".
