Arthur Higgins was primarily involved in Photography of the early films. His career began in feature films in 1912 where he worked with Director Raymond Longford in a film called "Tide of Death", and worked in conjuction with his brother, Tasman Higgins in photography. His next film, "Australia Calls", was a collaborated family effort in photography, where he worked alongside his brother again and his father also, Earnest Higgings. The Higgins family played a crucial role in the australian film industry, utilising their skills on an almost endless amount of film productions. Arthur Higgins was no exception. He first worked alone in photography, for the first time, on a film called "If the Huns came to Melbourne" in 1916, and from here on established a bountiful career, becoming involved in 36 features from 1918-1946. He ventured out on his own in 1928, with his own production company (Arthur Higgins Productions) to produce "Odds On", where Higgins worked as Producer, Photographer, Script writer and editor. It had a small 2000 pound budget and was distributed by Australiasian Films in June 1928. This was his only solo project. His last film was "A Son Is Born" in 1946, where he was photographer for Director Eric Porter.
