My research on bonza has focused on Indigenous film looking particularly at the films of Rachel Perkins but i have attempted to watch braodly in order to get a sense of the history and development of Indigenous film in Australia. My interest in this area has been sparked by a combination of a passion for documentary , the current social and political climate as well my own black history having been born into a system not disimiliar to the one that discrminated against Indigenous people in Australia.
Essentially i am interested in expanding this area of research to include one that traces the changing representations of Indigenous people in Australian film which is a huge body of work but one that i may be able to persue further in post graduate studies. But frankly at this point i've had enough and need a break from academia before i could even comtemplate persuing this. The reality also is that unless i get the co-operation and input from Indigenous people, this type of project could never be an authentic doucment. The net is a great place to start and the information in the database as well as the links that will initiated through my essay may be the beginning of a broader work which is made possible through the bonza database. If you have links that could be added , link them to my homepage or email me from my homepage which is listed below.
I have worked on a couple of short films ,one shot on 16mm and another on video. Currently in the process of attempting to complete a short documentary/experimental which looks at a visual representation that salvages aspects of a displaced and dynamic Indigenous culture. I have published an essay on Digital Photography on the web and i am in the process of doing the same for cinema which looks at Indigenous identity and spirituality in the films of Rachel Perkins.
My home page on

will give you a greater insight into areas of interest and examples of some of my work.
My ultimate ambition is combine skills in order to achieve a level of independence as a film maker , web designer and writer. I know , but hey you have to start somewhere, what i learn from the journey , both about myself and the world around me is more important than the goal.
