Billy Bevan had prior stage experience with the Polard Opera Company before entering films in 1917, playing supporting roles in one- and two-reel comedies. Between 1920 and 1929, he starred in some 70 two-reel comedies made by Mack Sennett. From 1928 till his retirement in 1952, he played bit parts and character roles in many feature productions.
