Everett De Roche was born in Maine and raised in San Diego. He has been an Australian resident for the past 25 years and during that time he has made a large contribution to the Australian TV and film industry.
When De Roche first arrived in Australia he worked for the Health Department but soon found himself working for Crawford Productions as one of their staff writers on shows
such as Division 4 and Homicide.
De Roche soon began a successful career by writing horror films such as Patrick and Road Games. These films led to a long time collaboration with friend and director, Richard Franklin.
Perhaps one of the most famous horror films ever made in Australia is De Roche's Jaws of the bush, Razorback. It is the story of a massive wild pig who runs amock in a small town. This film was directed by Russell Mulchay who went on to direct Highlander.
Currently (1998) De Roche is writing for television programs such as Stingers however he is still writing horror films with Richard Franklin.
