Croydon Twin Cinema, was the first cinema opened in the Corydon Cinema Complex in Hewish Road in Croydon, that is now currently Plaza Cinema Croydon. Croydon Twin closed in 1993 and was then reopened in 1994 as Croydon Cinemas. In the reopening Croydon Cinemas gained another two screens and a seating capacity of 840 people. Croydon Cinema closed in 2003, and was reopened in 2004 as Croydon Ritz Cinema, keeping the same amount of screens and viewing capacity. Then by the end of 2004 Croydon Ritz Cinema closed and was reopened in 2005 as Australian Cinema Croydon. Australian Cinema Croydon closed once again and then in 2011 was opened as Plaza Cinema Croydon. Through out the life of the Croydon Cinema it has remained an independent cinema, offering family orientated entertainment, with tickets half the price of the big multiplex competition. KL
