Phillip Adams lashes out at the Australian film industry saying they have failed.
For every $100 spent at the box office, around $95 is spent on Amercian product leaving $5, more or less for Australian, French, Russian, German and Canadian film. |

At an International arts and media conference the 12th IMZ World Congress on Arts and the Media in the 21st Century, Phillip Adams talks about the prevelance of American culture in Australian cinemas.
Adams says that despite 25 years of generous government susbsidies Australia has failed in cinematic representation.
Suggests that cable T.V. and other technologies are having a detrimental affect on Australian culture.
Mr Adams said 'Australians did not seem to care about protecting their uniqueness.'
The proliferation of American entertainment meant Australians were adopting American ideas. |
