This can be a useful source as a general overview of Australian culture; at the same time, it is promoting the Australian Women's Weekly as providing the definitive slant on Australian culture and so should be treated warily.
It does not specifically examine film culture but does make mention of notable instances that made it into the pages of the magazine, so it can be utilised as a broad overview of what the magazine's main preoccupations were according to the era.
Unfortunetly, the book fails to provide full references to its' own quotations (Note that while it quotes the review to 'Thoroughbred', it fails to citate it as being published in May 16, 1936 p.36).
