Comments This book was useful in providing and overview of Neo-realism. It included segments of interviews with people involved in Neo-Realism. For a comparison of the social climate in Australia to that of post-war Italy, this book was useful. It assist in defining the movement and how the films worked stylistically under Neo-realism. The book was in building the orgins Neo-realism so that a contemporary production like John Duigan's "Mouth to Mouth" could be compared.
Synopsis This book is simply written and dulges into a fair degree of depth about Neo-realism. It provides a context fo the movement, exploring a variety of films that preceded, and succeeded the movement. It exposes the problems, the achievement, the origins,the patterns, an evaluation and a conclusion of the movement.
