Comments It has been said that Max Stuart wrongly convicted rapist and murderer in South Australia during the 1950s is at ease with the thought of death. Being sentenced to be hanged, Media Mogul, Rupert Murdoch payed particular interest in the case and fought heavily against the death sentence of Max Stuart. Stuart admits he has come a long way from where he used to be. Now he is an official elder and a respected Arrente man and former chairman of Central land council. When the Queen visited Alice springs in 2000 Max was responsible for welcoming the majesty and presented her with a painting.
