This 2009 online article, under the larger heading of Boiling Sand, is writted by Doug Bonner; a filmmaker and an Emmy award winning sound designer with a comprehensive history of involvement throughout motion picture technologyâs advancements. Suffice to say, he has quite an informed opinion on the subject of films, how they are made and certain stylistic choices made during production and onscreen comprehension. What seperates him from the other vast majority of film critics whom have reviewed the film is that he takes it on its own merits, rather than attempting to critique it against the play which he hasnât seen. As such, he has a fresh, outsiderâs perspective but still provides a very short history cribbed from Wikipedia to save any readers some time. He gives the movie praise, unenlightened as to the misrepresentations and gives special consideration to the acting talent brought in. The importance of this article lies within the contrast, setting itself aside from all the other reviews, while at the same time remaining a modern professional perspective that sees the adaption merely as a film and gives it due respect in that regard. Something that needs to be mentioned in the publication.
