Comments Reflecting on cinema history of Melbourne. Only cinema in Melbourne were located in the CBD of Melbourne and now multiplexes have been built all around the city. ( Melissa Kristina Priestley)
Synopsis Due to the expansion of cinemas around Melbourne they are adding competition to the art house cinema that are independently run. Paul Coulter quotes " anything that reduces competition is not a good thing". The authors claim that Cinemas like Lumiere in Melbourne are now empty due to the connivence and main stream films taking over our culture and destroying the art house culture in Melbourne.
