A short article in the Argus describing the opening of The Regent Theatre, Fitzroy. The description of the cinema gives an interesting insight into how cinemas were built in the 1920âs. The amount of people that the cinema could hold is astonishing, 2500 people. The grand design of the cinema as described in the news article is quite different to what you would see in cinemas today. This article explains the layout of the new cinema, commenting on the grand lobby and describing the design of the theatre down to the crystal chandelier.
