Title The Industry Marches Confidently Into 1936: Indications Point To A Big Advancement In The New Year...
Author(s)Stuart Doyle
Publication Date 11-12-1935
Page Number 18
Comments A press-statement style announcement of advancement for the Australian film industry as a whole, but through the bias of Doyle's personal visions of the industry and its future.

Synopsis Doyle appraises the industry in view of creating world-standard talkies , crediting local ingenuity's technological contributions as well as Australians learning first-hand from the world's best. He acknowledges the ambition of Australian films reaching a world market, but mentions government support in the form of the NSW Quota Act, and claims that 1936 is the year that Australia will break into the world market, and that quality ensures box office tickets over nationality. Helen Twelvetrees photo is featured with the caption 'The engagement of Helen Twelvetrees for Cinesound's 'Thoroughbred', is significant of future plans'.
