Feminist slant on this article- interviewer is more interested in the fact that Gilda Baracchi is a woman producer than the film she produced (not that this is necessarily a bad thing but considering the lack of comment on Manganinnie in general, this gets in the way of any real comment on the film).
Interesting to note that Baracchi had experience in the US as well as Australia, before producing Manganinnie. In the states she produced Academy Awardnominated short film, Strange Fruit

Synopsis |
Interview with Gilda Baracchi, Producer of the Tasmanian Film Corporation's feature film Manganinnie, after the film's Sydney premiere. One of the few acknowledgements by the mainland press that the film was released. Interesting little ancedote on how they chose the lead actor Mawuyul Yanthalawuy. Usual comments regarding Manganinnie by the journalist (wonder if she actually saw the film- comments sound like quotes from promotional material- very little insightful analysis of the film, all reviews seem to repeat each other with regards to Manganinnie).
However, in this article's favour is the fact that it is the only interview I've been able to locate with Gilda Baracchi regarding Manganinnie.
