Comments Interesting interview combining an American journalist in America with a foriegn Director away from home (Australia).
Synopsis Quite an incisive interview that gives a good biographical history to Weir's career. It gives a good perspective to his work in Australia and overseas.

Weir discusses how he uses the the metaphor of a foriegner being married to a complete stranger (and you can't help but apply this to Weir the director in the US). Weir then mentions that he invisaged he wedding rings as handcuffs for two people and using this metaphor might suggest something about the Hollywod system. Although Wier's immediate comments are definately addressing issues that are more personal and character based.
