A 'must have' for all wishing to explore the musical genre.
Especially useful for those reseacrching/interested in Hollywood musicals, as there is much detail covering this area.
The author is almost an expert on this topic and throughout my resrach this book was m,entioned by just about every author or writer as an important point of reference.
Synopsis This book looks at the Hollywood Musical through different angles such as: the role of the spectator, the idea of the spectacle, the role of the song, the world of the musical and recounts some of the history surrounding its emergence and survival.
