Author(s)Author Unknown
Publication Date 11-09-1976

Comments Ironically, in this 'review', The Australian's so-called 'reviewer' appears to have not even seen Oz, much less review a film!

In the 100 or so words s/he is allocated, the only 'synopsis'of Oz - or comment other than its lack of box office takings - is the annoyingly flippant (not to mention incorrect) assertion that Oz is a "...skin flick based on the 'original' Dorothy's pilgrimage".
Synopsis The uncredited reviewer chooses not to provide his/her readership with a review of the film as such, as a review of its success, stating that "Oz has been a disappointment to the distributors, exhibitors and, evidently, the public too. The film has been less than well-received at the box office and looks set for a lengthy spell in the red".

Dripping with cynicism, s/he goes on to state that "...as is often the case in these situations, the critics generally favoured the flick".
