Title Snot Funny - Its Body Melt
Author(s)Michael Helms
Page Number 24-28
Comments The article is fairly generic in regard to its review of the film, however it does have a uniquely American perspective (being America’s premier horror magazine), that prompts the question by the author of whether there is an intention to Americanize the film in order to broaden its appeal – a prospect Brophy immediately shuts down.
Synopsis This article contains an interview with Philip Brophy and Rod Bishop, the director and producer of the film Body Melt, while shooting the film on location. It discusses the director’s interest in distorting the human form through a series of gore inspired events that makes up the story structure. Helms also gets a chance to interview cast member Vince Gil during the filming and is witness to the FX Make up and props which will have a large impact on realising the movie’s gore focus. Brophy also comments briefly on the film as a test case for the future of horror films in Australia.
