This article was written shortly after the time when the Office of Film and Literature Classification board held a national call for inidividuals to work either part-time or full-time for the panel. |
| Synopsis |
Alexa Moses explores the contentious issue of which type of individuals consist of the members of the Office of Film and Literature Classification board in Australia.
Based on her findings of "publicly available information" Moses notes that the current board, that of July 2005, does not seem to represent the ethnic diversity of Australia. The board also neglects to compirse of members/individuals who are below the age of 25 years. To Moses this is ironic, as films are watched and computer games are played predominately by people within this age group.
Moses notes that a spokeswoman from the Attorney-General's Department advised that age and ethnicity, alongside "community involvement" and "merit" are factors that will be taken into consideration during the national call for members of the Office of Film and Literature Classification board. |
