This is a fantastic website that is very thorough in its exploration into the issue of censorship in Australia and beyond.
A look at the 'Site Map' page will illustrate the extent to which Irene Graham has covered in her personally maintained website. From information regarding legislation and cases, free speech and Australian law, a list of banned and challenged films, urban myths to a guide on how you can help and become involved, libertus.net has film and internet censorship covered.
The 'Know Your Enemies' link which guides you through the pro-censorship lobby parties in Australia is very helpful in identifying who has an influence on censorship in the community.
Unfortunately, however, the website does not appear to be updated on a regular basis, thus hindering the addition of more current films and their battles with film censorship. |
