I found this site very useful in gaining an understanding of who exactly the Office of Film and Literature Classification, the Classification Board and the Classification Review Board are.
It has often been stated that the media has a notorious reputation for confusing these different Government bodies when discussing the issue of film censorship.
The site includes useful downloads of 'The Act', 'The Code', 'The Regulations', and 'Film and Computer Games Guidelines'. These are useful to peruse if one was interested in gaining a firmer grasp on censorship regulations.
I found the 'FAQs' (Frequently Asked Questions) site particularly helpful, especially for my investigation into film censorship and determining who exactly makes the decisions.
The search engine is also valuable if one wants to find out more information regarding a specific film, such as production details, duration, the classification rating and consumer guidelines. |
