Comments Another interesting look at the Australian film industry from Brophy's perspective, this time using the example of "Turkey Shoot" to explore the influence of exploitation cinema.

Synopsis This article continues Philip Brophy’s discussion about film culture in Australia and the Australian film industry (following on from the article “That’s Exploitation: Snobs” from the previous edition of this journal also cited on the Bonza database). In this article Brophy discusses the film Turkey Shoot, which he suggests is ‘prime exploitation’. Brophy suggests this openly perverse and direct Australian film uses any trick in the book to exploit audience interest and hence their ticket, something the greater Australian film industry fails to do.
