Synopsis In the wake of the Port Arthur massacre the Federal Government is considering tightening controls on violent computer games and films. Howard is attempting to counter what he believes is a culture of violence in Australia by delaying the screening of violent television movies to 9:30 or 10pm. Although Howard claims to abhor censorship, he felt a responsibiltiy to children and finds it hard to believe the "repetitive mind-numbing violence ...on television does not have a deleterious effect".
