Comments Not particulary interesting in terms of an evaluation of Chopper but moreso as a view on contemporary Australian film and how Chopper does and doesn't fit this context.
Synopsis Positive review of the film which becomes increasingly positive when compared to other contemporary Australian films.

About a quarter of the article is devoted to attacking Shine and praising Chopper for 'not' being Shine. Bana is praised for 'not' playing a dopey, socially-inept fail-male like other central characters in recent Australian films. Chopper's humour is also complemented and thankfully that comment is not followed by or more likely, introduced by a grumble about the lack of humour in other Australian features.
