Author(s)Wendy Caccetta
Publication Date 05-08-1999
Page Number 1-2
Synopsis This is a profile on Simon Lyndon who plays Jimmy Loughnam in Chopper.

It presents biographical details on Lyndon and mentions his current role in Ben Elton's play Popcorn. This satire on violence and the media was inspired by the lawsuits brought against film-maker Oliver Stone for Natural Born Killers.

Lyndon claims he would refuse a role if he thought it would inspire someone to murder stating people are affected by violence in film.

Oliver Stone is facing a lawsuit in which it is claimed the film led a couple to kill a woman and Lyndon agrees Stone "fell in love with the two characters a little too much and just lost the plot...in the end".

Lyndon breifly discusses the onscreen relationship between Chopper and Jimmy before going on to talk about other projects and his newly acquired friendship with Kylie Minogue.
