Comments It is a very useful piece of information about Idiot Box. It tells us what the film is really about and what the director intends to express.
Synopsis The article is an interview with David Caesar, the director of the film, Idiot Box. It provides Caesar's biography and filmography as reference. In the article, Caesar argues that modern men, especially those in working-class and unkilled, are facing many significant problems in this urban world. However, the issue is ignored by the popular culture. What Australian men used to be good at has become redundant now, such as the loyalty of mateship and the emphasis of physical power, as the hardship is no longer in the country. Moreover, in Ceaser opinion, the suburbia is where the Australian culture come from, therefore, it is worthwhile to make a film based on the place.
